Tomás COHEN (Chile – Germany)

Tomás COHEN is a Chilean poet, curator, and transdisciplinary artist who lives in Berlin. He has published the poetry books Redoble del ronroneo (Buenos Aires Poetry, Argentina, 2016), Un árbol de luz íntima (Ediciones Bastante, Chile, 2019), Tríada mayor (Siesta Verlag, Germany, 2023), and Eine Sternwarte im Badezimmer (Elif Verlag, Germany, 2023). His poems have been translated into nine languages and published in international journals and anthologies.

He co-organized (2015–2021) the multilingual reading series Hafenlesung in Hamburg and, since 2023, has served as the artistic director of VOCATIONS, a series of new music and poetry events organized by Haus für Poesie in collaboration with the Akademie der Künste and DAAD in Berlin. Tomás studied Fine Arts, Art History, and Musicology in Santiago de Chile and New York. After spending two years in a Buddhist monastery in Kathmandu, he studied Tibetan philology and Sanskrit in Hamburg. He currently performs concerts featuring musical adaptations of his poems.
