Liviu Capșa (Romania)

LIVIU CAPȘA  (born on 16th August 1954) graduated the Faculty of Law at Bucharest University in 1979 and he is presently a lawyer in the Bucharest Bar Association.

His literary debut was vouched for by Geo Dumitrescu and Alex Ştefănescu. His first volume was The Seahorse Hippodrome (Calende Publishing House, 1993). 

He has published 23 books of poetry, journalism, travel notes and children literature. He has twice received the literary prize of the Piteşti Branch of the Romanian Writers Association for his books Suicide with Lilies (2002) and The Hidden Heaven (2010), the prize of the Bucharest Branch of the Romanian Writers Association for his poetry book The Indulgence Zone (2023) and the poetry prize of the Literature Festival “Brădiceni Nights” (2022).

In 2019 he was awarded the Romanian Writers Association Prize for Children and Youth Literature for his volume Fantastical animals gathered together in poems.

He has been a member of the Romanian Writers Association since 1997 and a member of its Council since 2022.
