Denise Vargas (Honduras)

Denise VARGAS (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) is a poet, cultural activist, moderator and director of an internationally based Honduran educational foundation.  She studied Romance Languages and literature at Dartmouth College. She has published the following books of poetry, Martes como toda vida, (Costa Rica, 2016) and El ruido de la ciudad que abandonas (Ecuador, 2022). Part of her work was translated into Italian in the Antologia Della Poesia Honduregna (Italy, 2018) Additionally, she has been published in international literary magazines and several poetry anthologies including Ojos de par en par (Colombia, 2021) and Paralelo Cero (Ecuador, 2022). She was a member of the jury of the National Poetry Award Paralelo Cero in 2023.  Denise is co-founder of the Honduran editorial ManoNostra, and was part of the workshop and literary group Alicanto.
