Clyo Mendoza (Mexico)

Clyo MENDOZA HERRERA (b. 1993, in Oaxaca) is one of the most profound voices in contemporary Mexican prose and poetry, bringing to the forefront in her work the voices of Indigenous peoples, gender-based violence, and desolate landscapes. She is the author of the poetry collections Anamnesis (2016) and Silencio (2018), the latter of which earned her the International Poetry Prize “Juana Inés de la Cruz.” Her debut novel, Furia, has been published in eight countries and received both the “Amazon Novel Prize” and the “Javier Morote Prize.”
