Andrei Zbîrnea (Romania)

ANDREI ZBÎRNEA (b. 1986, Urziceni, Ialomița) is a writer, journalist, cultural promoter, and copywriter. Since 2024, he has served as Secretary General of PEN Romania and as a representative on the Young Writers Committee of PEN International.

Since 2018, he has been the project manager of the Mornin’ Poets poetry workshop. Starting in 2023, he has been moderating some of the Poetic Hub by Cărturești events and poetry sessions within FILIT Iași (since 2021).

He coordinated the anthology Antologeek – Către tine, cel de peste 2000 de ani (Editura pentru Artă și Literatură, 2024). Beginning in 2025, he is curating the Arcane poetry series at Editura pentru Artă și Literatură.

His published poetry volumes include: Rock în Praga (Herg Benet, 2011), #kazim – contemporani cu primăvara arabă (Herg Benet, 2014), Turneul celor cinci națiuni (Fractalia, 2017), Pink Pong (Fractalia, 2019, a trilingual book co-authored with Claus Ankersen), and nick cave@bergen (CDPL, 2021). The latter was nominated at the 54th edition of the “Nicolae Labiș” National Poetry Festival in the category “Best Poetry Book of 2021.”

He mainly writes about niche music in the literary magazines Familia and Matca Literară.
